Mother's Day Cards

I'm officially back from vacation and creating again! It was wonderful to be at the beach for a few days and to spend some quality time with my parents, but it's nice to be home with the fur babies again.

This week's CASology cue couldn't have come at a better time! This week is mom and I was actually going to start my Mother's Day cards this week anyway, so it fit right in!

This is the card that I ended up making for my mother. I was a handful when I was younger! I think she'll really appreciate the sentiment! The inside sentiment says "Mother you are wonderful" and is just perfect for her.  I simply stamped my pot and cactus in Desert Storm Memento ink which is a very light tan color. I then used the no-line coloring technique with my copics to give it this look. Only my third attempt! I kept everything simple and cut out my plant with a Wonky Stitched Square die and then popped it up with some foam adhesive. I stamped the sentiment in black to make it pop since the image doesn't have any black lines. This is the card I'll be entering into the challenge since my next card is a little bit busier.

My next card is for my MIL and I think it's super cute!

Patty likes things that are cute, so I used this sweet set from Clearly Besotted to create her card. I love those little elephants! Adorable! This was a simple card to put together. I cut a stitched arch and then stamped my image and colored it with copics. The card base was stamped in tone-on-tone with the Chevron stamp and then it was a matter of piecing it together with some foam tape. I decided to add a black banner with the sentiment so it would stand out better than just being stamped on the base. I also heat embossed Happy Mother's Day on the inside in some white embossing powder. It turned out really nice!
