Best Friends

I'm back again after a brief hiatus. Our air conditioning broke again which meant I was sequestered in our bedroom with the portable air conditioner and all the pets. It was still 85-90 in there every day, but at least I avoided the 105 degree house! But that's fixed now and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after being gone for a week. It's actually a little difficult!

That brings us to today's card! I created it for the current Can You Case It? pet challenge.

I kept it simple since my mojo is still a little on the lackluster side, but I did color my image to look like my Great Dane and his favorite kitty. He just loves his little kitty sister! I added a little bit of grass around the bottom of them to keep them from looking like they were just floating in the middle of nowhere!

Sweet Birthday

Today's card was created for my Aunt's birthday using the color challenge from Can You Case It.

Since this card has to travel clear across the country, I wanted to make it fairly flat without too much dimension. I didn't want it to get smooshed in the mail! I cut a panel using a Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and then stamped my image in the corner using my MISTI. I colored it in with my Copics (yellow roses are her favorites!). When I was finished coloring, I heat embossed the sentiment slightly overlapping the flowers to tie it all together. I finished it off by adhering the panel directly to a card base and adding just a few Moonbeams sequins.

Make A Wish

Today's card was inspired by the Can You Case It? birthday card challenge!

I'm a sucker for cute little animals and MFT Stamps has had some real winners come out recently. I decided to combine some sets to create this cutie! I stamped each animal from three separate sets and cut them out with my Brother Scan N Cut 2. I colored them with my Copics after they were cut. I cut my film strip from some white cardstock and set everything to the side.

Next, I heat embossed my sentiment in white on a card panel. I used 3 separate colors of pink distress ink to blend my background in an ombre pattern. Because my sentiment was heat embossed, it resists the ink I sponged over the top! I adhered my animals into my film strip and then used foam tape to pop up the whole piece on my card panel. I added a sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and used some clear Wink of Stella to finish the whole thing off.

If you look closely, you can see the shimmer on the balloon, heart, and icing on the cake!

I'm also going to be adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge. Both are Anything Goes!

Life in Full Bloom

My second post for today is for the Can You Case It? Challenge and the Addicted to CAS Challenge. I got the colors from CYCI and the stripes are for Addicted to CAS.

I didn't have a stamp with the width of stripe that I wanted, so I used a ruler and a Copic marker to make my stripes. At first I didn't like the sketchy feel, but I think it's starting to grow on me! I stamped my flower with 3 colors of pink and my leaves with 3 colors of gray and then used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut them out with a little white border. I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed in Silver. I adhered my leaves directly to the card front, but added foam tape behind my flower to give it some dimension. I finished everything by adding a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
