CASology: Forest

Hello, everyone! I'm back today with a brand new inspiration for the current CASology challenge - Forest.

And here's what I came up with...

I know one tree isn't really a forest, but I just love the look of this layered stamp from Altenew. It creates an interesting image without adding bulk and I just love that. I cut my panel with a cross-stitch rectangle die from MFT Stamps and then used my MISTI to stamp each part of my tree image. I decided to go simple and stamped my sentiment directly below the image in some basic black ink. I used some fun foam between my panel and card base for some dimension.

I hope you'll join us this week!

Birthday Trio

My stash of birthday cards is running dangerously low right now. Somehow, I seem to have a majority of birthdays in November and December and it just decimated my pile of cards! I decided to make a start at replenishing today by using the current MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge.

And here's the sketch I used:

I love how a simple sketch can inspire a variety of cards. It definitely helped me make a start on this year's birthday cards!

For this card, I used the new Polar Bear Pals set and a background stamp to create a simple card that's gender neutral.

I'll admit, I had a certain someone in mind when I made this card. They're a bit of a bookworm and I know their favorite chair is a beautiful blue. I used the new Our Story stamp set with the Whimsical Woodgrain background for this one.

I mixed it up a little with this one and used an embossing folder for the background along with the Beary Special Birthday set.

Hopefully I can keep up the momentum over the next week and build my stash back up to a respectable level! I hate scrambling for a card at the last second!

CASology: Cold

Hello, everyone! I'm here today with my very first post as a CASology designer! Yay! This week's cue is Cold.

And this is my take on it!

I love this sweet little Pure Innocence girl. Unfortunately, she's been discontinued, but there are a few other winter images in the Pure Innocence line that are just as cute! I started by stamping her and coloring her with my Copics. I'm lazy, so I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut her out instead of fussy cutting. (I hate fussy cutting!) I set her aside and started work on my base. I simply cut and folded a white base and then used a scrap piece of white cardstock to cut my snowy background piece with a Landscape Trio die. I used foam tape to pop the snowy piece up for a little bit of dimension and then added my little girl by adhering the bottom portion directly to the snow drift and using foam tape behind the rest of her. I used my MISTI to carefully line up my sentiment and a bold black ink to stamp.

I hope you like my card and I can't wait to see how you're inspired this week!
