Coffee and Love

I think I've finally found my missing mojo! Hooray! I wanted to create something for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, so I had a concept floating around in my mind for a few days. Finally, my illness is better, so I had an opportunity to sit down and create!

I knew I wanted to include some beautiful spring flowers, so I pulled out my Watercolor Wonders stamp set and got inky! I think it makes the perfect background because it doesn't look too solid or busy. I topped the flowers with a die cut coffee cup from MFT Stamps and then added the sentiment in gold embossing from The Ton. 3 different companies came together to make this gorgeous card!

In addition to the Spring Coffee Lovers Hop, I'm going to add this card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - food or drink. I'm also going to add this to The Ton Stamps Color Palette Challenge. It's not quite the color palette, but the rules state that you don't have to stick to those colors.

Rainbow of Wishes

I'm finally feeling better after nearly a week of illness. I'm still not at 100% and my crafting mojo is missing. I decided to get back into things by creating a simple card with mostly die cuts.

I die cut the rainbow pieces, clouds, and rainbow word from white card stock and used my copics to color the pieces that needed some color. This is an easy way to make sure that all your pieces match! Assembling the card was as simple as gluing the rainbow together, attaching the clouds on top with foam tape, and gluing the word into the sentiment. Easy-peasy!

This was a great card to get my mojo started again and I even created a card after this one (which will be up on April 1st for a fun blog hop!).

I'm entering this card into 3 challenges -

Less Is More - Outside Your Window (I wish! It never rains here...)
CASology - Weather
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Rain or Shine

The Challenge 65

Hello! It's a brand new week which means there's a fun new challenge up on The Challenge blog! This week is picture inspiration.

Those beautiful peonies immediately caught my eye. My mom used to have 3 peony bushes outside our house when I was growing up and those beautiful pink ones were always my favorites!

I stamped several peonies and then used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut them out. I arranged them the way that I liked them and then (quick tip!) I used Washi tape to pick them up from the card base. This keeps the arrangement the way I like it without having to try to recreate it later and the low-tack tape doesn't leave any marks! I used liquid adhesive to adhere them together, but left the top flower free (I attached that with foam tape for dimension).

The black and white stripes are from a pattern paper pack and I simply adhered it to the side of my card base. I adhered my "clump" of flowers with liquid adhesive and then adhered that last flower on top with foam tape. I finished it off by using my Misti to stamp the label sentiment. I love my Misti because I never get an uneven sentiment. Before I got it, I used to ruin cards by stamping wonky sentiments at the very end! Now I never have to throw away an almost completed card or redo an element because of my own error! I finished everything off with a few clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

A Brief Update...

I'm still around, I'm just a little under the weather. The flu has been making it's way through my town and I was one of the lucky ones who caught it. I'll be back Monday with the regularly scheduled post for The Challenge, but spontaneous updates may take a few days to resume. Bear with me, I promise I'll be back soon!

Color My World

I decided to play in the Lawnscaping Challenge this week by reimagining the card I created for this week's CASology challenge. I changed up the sentiment and the card base as well as adding a little more gray for contrast.

The challenge is Color Splash which means it's mostly black and white with a splash of color. My other card was mostly color, so I changed it up slightly to make it a little more "splashy"! I think I actually like this cleaner version a little better.
