Life in Full Bloom

My second post for today is for the Can You Case It? Challenge and the Addicted to CAS Challenge. I got the colors from CYCI and the stripes are for Addicted to CAS.

I didn't have a stamp with the width of stripe that I wanted, so I used a ruler and a Copic marker to make my stripes. At first I didn't like the sketchy feel, but I think it's starting to grow on me! I stamped my flower with 3 colors of pink and my leaves with 3 colors of gray and then used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut them out with a little white border. I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed in Silver. I adhered my leaves directly to the card front, but added foam tape behind my flower to give it some dimension. I finished everything by adding a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

What Makes You Different

Today's card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (things with wings) and Less Is More Challenge (repetition).

This card is pretty straight forward. I stamped my flamingo three times using my MISTI for alignment and then stamped the sentiment below them. I used my Copics to color them in - two in pink and one in yellow. Yes, I know flamingos aren't yellow...but hey, maybe this one doesn't like shrimp!

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 14

Welcome to another Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! We have all sorts of inspiration for you over on the blog, so click the linky to go check out everyone's work!

For this challenge, I chose diagonal from top left to bottom right - Embossing, Chalk Board, and Ribbon.

I started with a black piece of cardstock and cut it down to the size of an A2 card front. I used my MISTI to center everything and then stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white. I love the MISTI because I was able to stamp all of my elements at once without any trouble. Makes it super fast! I cut a frame from Kraft cardstock by using two separate dies and adhered it to my black piece with some Be Creative Double-Sided tape. (I also adhered the black panel to my white card base using the same tape.)

Confession time: I don't actually own any ribbon anymore. I did a destash a while back and got rid of everything I had. I just didn't use it anymore! Luckily, I have the amazing Twine and Bows die set from Pretty Pink Posh and it created the perfect ribbon accent for my card without adding any bulk! (Which was always my main complaint about ribbon!) I cut it from some red cardstock and then used some Multi Medium Matte to make sure it wouldn't be going anywhere! I simply cut off the excess that hung over the sides of my card.

I hope that you're inspired to join in our challenge!

Trouble in a Tutu

My beautiful niece, Lucy, sent me a cute letter in the mail and I wanted to send her something back. That's what inspired this card. She's 5 and she's a little ballerina who loves pink.

I started by stamping my little ballerinas and then masking them off with some masking paper. I stamped one set of clouds, masked them, and then stamped the second. I used my Copics to color my images, add a wooden floor beneath my ballerinas and add a little bit of blue highlighting to the sky and clouds. I stamped my sentiment by curving it to fit inside the banner and then used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut around it. I used some light blue Copics to give it some highlights. I adhered my sentiment banner with some foam tape and added a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I finished it off by adding a layer of Clear Wink of Stella to the tutus and bows. Super cute and she's going to love it!

I'm entering this into this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - create a scene.
