My Very First Post!

I make cards pretty much every day. It's therapeutic to me. Well, maybe not therapeutic, but it's a lot of fun and it does help me focus. I finally decided to start posting some of my stuff online. Share the wealth, right?

I'm not a girl who likes all the flashy cards that you can find out there. My tastes run to more simplistic, clean styles. I don't like a lot of elements thrown together on the same card. I like copic marker coloring and all that, but I can't afford those supplies yet, so maybe my prejudice comes from the fact that I can't have those things! ;)

Anyway, for my first post, I decided to display what I've been working on today. Mother's Day is fast approaching and I've been working on several cards for my mom and for my husband's mother. He's very particular when it comes to sending cards. He doesn't want anything to look too girly.

The card I made for my mother is this:

It makes use of the Stampin' Up! owl punch and an embossing folder (I think it was Darice). DH liked the owls, but he still thought it looked too girly for his taste. So...onward...

Still the owl punch and a border punch from The Paper Studio. Again, too girly. I guess it's the colors because he liked the next one I made for him.

Joke's on him, I added pearls! (Owl punch and border punch from Recollections. I added the branch from the Stampin' Up! bird punch for some interest.)

I hope, if you've stumbled across this mess of a blog, that you'll enjoy what I'm posting and maybe find some inspiration for your own works of art. I hope to have you back again soon. :)

  1. Rachel, these are fabulous!!! I love my little owl punch from SU too and try to use it as much as I can. No matter if it's for a male or female, they always come out just precious like yours did. Love the addition of those pearls on the last one too! Adorable cards!!
