CASology: Season

Hello, everyone! There's a brand new cue from CASology and I may have interpreted it in a slightly weird way, but  I think it's fun!

So my brain immediately went to cooking. I know most people would see this an think winter, spring, summer or fall, but I'm not most people!

1. I cut and folded my white card base and then set it aside.

2. I cut a scallop frame from more white card stock and set that aside as well.

3. I cut a circle to fit inside my frame from some patterned paper and set it aside with the others.

4. I stamped my chef and colored him with Copics. I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut him out to avoid fussy cutting.

5. I cut my banner from black cardstock and then used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment on it with some Versamark ink. I heat embossed it in white.

6. Now for assembly. I simply adhered my circle to my card base with some liquid adhesive and then adhered the frame around it in the same way. I folded my banner and added some foam tape to the back and then adhered it at the bottom of my circle. I added more foam tape to the back of my chef and adhered him standing on the banner.

I can't wait to see the different ways you're inspired by our cue this week! Thanks for joining me!

CASology: Grow

Hello and welcome! I have a new project for you today featuring the brand new cue from CASology!

It's officially spring and that automatically makes me think of beautifully blooming flowers. That's where I took my inspiration for this card.

1. I cut and folded a card base from white cardstock and stamped a rose background stamp in Versamark on the front, heat embossing in white.

2. On a separate piece of paper, I stamped my roses and leaves in Versamark and then heat embossed those in white.

3. I used distress inks and ink blending tool to add color to my roses and leaves.

4. I used my scissors to fussy cut around each of the images (even though I hate fussy cutting!).

5. I arranged my images in a cluster that I liked and then used Washi tape to keep them together so I could add liquid adhesive to the back without losing the arrangement. After adding the adhesive, I replaced the cluster on the front of my card and pressed it down, then carefully removed my Washi tape.

6. I stamped my sentiment on black cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed in white, then cut it down into a strip that fit the front of my card.

7. I adhered my sentiment strip with some foam tape.

8. I added a few Sparkling Clear sequins across the front of the card.

I love how a white-on-white background adds some subtle interest without completely overpowering the card. It's one of my favorite things to do when I want a little something extra for a rather plain looking card.

CASology: Strong

Hello, everyone! There's a brand new cue from CASology today which means another chance to play!

This week is sponsored by Kitty Bee Designs and I used this sweet Emily the Elephant digi stamp because elephants are super STRONG animals!

I started by printing my digi on some cardstock and then using my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut it out. As you probably already know, I hate fussy cutting! I used my Copics to color her in (C7, C5, C3, and C1. Y4 and YR04 for the flower and E51 for her toenails.). I grabbed a white card base and then used a stencil to sponge some light blue ink behind where I wanted to adhere my elephant (it's hard to see in the picture, but looks great IRL). I cut a scallop frame from some more white cardstock and used some foam tape to adhere it on top of the sponging. I used more foam tape to adhere my elephant in the center of my frame. I finished it off with a bold black sentiment.

I hope you'll join us with your own take on the challenge! Can't wait to see what you create!
