CASology: Turn

Hello! I'm back today with a new cue from CASology!

I decided to go super simple again this week and chose this intricate stamp from Altenew to be the focus of my card.

I simply cut and folded an A2 card base and then used my MISTI to stamp my scene and my sentiment. I thought that an intricate stamp like this could stand on its own without being colored, so I left it as is.

Kindred Stamps January Release

Hello, everyone! I'm here today with a new set from Kindred Stamps that I'm seriously in love with! My little nerdy heart is just so happy! It's called Size Doesn't Matter and it's absolutely adorable!

For my first card, I went all out with my scene building and created a little home for these two little guys. My trailing plant came out a little wonky, but I think you can tell what it is after I put a few white flowers in it.

For my second card I wanted to prove that you can use your fandom stamps for projects outside of the fandom by thinking a little outside of the box. Here I used a little masking to create a simple and elegant wedding card. No one would ever know what set this card came from!

The entire Kindred Stamps January release will be available Friday, January 25th at 8am PST/11am EST.  Be sure to check out the Kindred Stamps blog on Friday for the full product release as well as the complete line up of all the Kindred Stamps Design Team projects from release week!  If you visit and comment on all of the designers' blogs this week, you could win $15 in Kindred Stamps shop credit!  So join the Fan Club and release event, show the design team some love, and get ready to empty those wallets this Friday!

CASology: Smile

Hey, everyone! It's time for a brand new cue from CASology!

I broke out a seriously old set from Simon Says Stamp for this one!

It was just as easy as it looks to put this one together. I merely cut and folded a white card base and then used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment in black. I went back in with my MISTI and stamped my sun and then used the small stamps included in the set to add the mouth and eyes. That's it!

Never Forget You

Hello! I'm back today with a card that I'm rather proud of. It's not the best one I've ever created, but I took an idea that was swimming around in my head and got it out on paper and that's an achievement that I feel deserves to be celebrated!

Ever since I got this set, the idea of putting these two characters in front of a set of lockers has been circulating in my mind. It was just a matter of time before I attempted to put it on paper and I finally just decided to do it!

Here it is halfway through my sketching process...and probably about 45 minutes into the thing!

When it got to this point I was so scared to continue because I'd put in an hour and a half of work to get the background just right. What if I screwed it up right at the end? Oh well, it's just paper, right?

And when it's all said and done, I think it's pretty cute! Are there things I would change about it? Heavens yes! But when it's all said and done, I'm glad I attempted it and got my idea out!

CASology: Cloudy

Hello! It's Tuesday, which means it's time for a new cue from CASology!

When I saw this cue, I immediately thought of this sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things. Then it was just a matter of putting together a little scene for it!

I found a couple of cloud dies in my stash from ages ago that I thought were perfect to create the top piece of my card. I started by cutting and folding a card base from some gray card stock and then cut my clouds from white card stock and vellum. I used some multi medium matte on the top edge of my card and adhered the vellum. I knew this portion would be hidden by the white layer, so it wouldn't matter if it showed through the vellum. I added a little more multi medium matte behind my white piece and adhered it on top of the vellum.

I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment in Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white powder. To finish, I added a sprinkling of sparkling clear jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thank You For Being a Friend

Hello! I'm here today with a card I created using the Kindred Stamps set Stay Golden!

I had a very specific song going through my head the whole time I was working on this one! I simply stamped my images in a row on a panel cut to the size of the front of an A2 card base. I used my MISTI to make sure they were lined up properly and then added my sentiment below them.

Using my Copics, I carefully colored in each lady and then added a bit of shadowing below them to help ground them and make them look like they weren't floating in space. I adhered my panel to the front of an A2 card base and I was finished! A super simple card, but a really fun one to send to a friend!

Magical Creature

Hello! I'm here with a post that's just for fun! I know, I haven't really been making time just to create, but that's the way life has been lately. Busy, busy! This one is for one of my close work friends. Her birthday was actually just after Christmas, so it'll be a little bit late.

I used Sandy Allnock's City Sidewalk class for the inspiration for this one. The first lesson just reminded me so intensely of the streets of New York which is the perfect place for my little Catcher of Beasts!

I won't go into the details of how I created this scene, but it's actually a lot easier than it looks. I can't recommend this class enough! Everything is sketched in and colored with Copics. After my scene was in place, I went back in with my Copics and colored in my images and added my sentiment to the top. I finished the whole thing off by adding the snow with my colorless blender and my white gel pen. I adhered the finished panel onto an A2 card base and it's ready to give to my friend!

CASology: Frozen

Hello! I'm back today with a new cue from CASology!

I decided to go direct with this cue and used my cute little popsicle stamps from Sunny Studio Stamps.

This is super simple to put together. I just used my little ink cubes from Altenew for the perfect color combinations for my layering stamps and then used my MISTI to line everything up. I finished it off with a sentiment from the same set.

Shady Pines, Ma!

Hello! I'm back today with a new post using an oldy but a goody from Kindred Stamps - Stay Golden!

I started by cutting my card base and using a stitched cover plate to create the texture and design on the front of the card. I also cut a circle from some vellum and a stitched flourish from some natural colored card stock. I set these aside and got to work on my main image. I stamped her using my MISTI and then colored her in with my Copics. After cutting her out, I started arranging my elements on my card front and decided I needed a little contrast for the sentiment. I cut a strip of black card stock and then heat embossed my sentiment on it with some white embossing powder.

To piece together my scene, I adhered the flourish to my vellum circle with some multi-medium matte. I then used some more multi-medium matte hidden behind the flourish to adhere the vellum to the card front. I adhered the sentiment strip behind my main image with a tiny dot of multi-medium matte and then used foam tape to behind the image and the sentiment on top of the whole design for a little bit of dimension.

CASology: Fresh

It's a brand new year and what better way to start it off than with a brand new cue from CASology?

When I think of the word "fresh" my mind automatically goes to fresh cut flowers. So I took that image and ran with it.

I used my MISTI to stamp my image and my sentiment onto a panel the size of the front of an A2 card. I used my Copics to color the image and then attached the panel to a card base. A super simple card to start of my new year!
