CASology: Romance

Hello, everyone! It's time for a brand new cue from CASology!

And here's my take on the cue!

I'm a cutsie person and so my romance cards tend to be on the cute side. This one is no exception to that! This is actually my Valentine for my husband! I started out by stamping my heart wreath and my squirrel image and then colored them in with Copics. I used the matching die to cut out my wreath, but my Brother Scan N Cut for the squirrel since I didn't order the matching die. I used an ink blending tool and blended in a little light blue ink where my image was going to go to help it stand out. I used foam tape to adhere both my squirrel and wreath over the blended ink.

I originally stamped my sentiment in black ink under my image, but I made an oopsie and it was a little crooked. Instead of scrapping the card and starting over, I simply heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of black paper and adhered it over the original sentiment. I actually like this look better because it helps the sentiment stand out more!

I hope you're inspired to join us this week!

  1. Rachel, you do "cutesie" so well! I love this wreath and the way you added your sentiment (even if it was a "repair."). Very sweet Valentine, I'm sure your husband loved it!

  2. Such a lovely heart and beautiful Copic coloring, Rachel! Your cute little squirrel is the perfect masculine element, too...Love this card!

  3. I love that you can put together a CAS card with such detailed images, Rachel! Beautiful card!

  4. Rachel, this card is such a cutie!
