I have a new card for you today that was inspired by two current challenges.

Less Is More - Alphabet and Addicted to CAS - Wood.

I started my card by cutting a white card base and setting it aside. I cut a panel from some Blackberry Bliss cardstock with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and then used Versamark ink to stamp a woodgrain pattern onto it. I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to help it stand out a little more. I cut my sentiment from some Fog Gray cardstock with a word die and then cut my rose from white cardstock. I arranged my flower where I wanted it and adhered it with some Mutli-Medium Matte adhesive. I used the same adhesive to adhere my letters on top of it. I added my panel to the card base with some foam tape for dimension and then finished the whole thing off with a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

CASology: Romance

Hello, everyone! It's time for a brand new cue from CASology!

And here's my take on the cue!

I'm a cutsie person and so my romance cards tend to be on the cute side. This one is no exception to that! This is actually my Valentine for my husband! I started out by stamping my heart wreath and my squirrel image and then colored them in with Copics. I used the matching die to cut out my wreath, but my Brother Scan N Cut for the squirrel since I didn't order the matching die. I used an ink blending tool and blended in a little light blue ink where my image was going to go to help it stand out. I used foam tape to adhere both my squirrel and wreath over the blended ink.

I originally stamped my sentiment in black ink under my image, but I made an oopsie and it was a little crooked. Instead of scrapping the card and starting over, I simply heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of black paper and adhered it over the original sentiment. I actually like this look better because it helps the sentiment stand out more!

CASology: Hero

Hello, everyone! CASology has a brand new cue for you and I love it! It's one that gives me an excuse to get out one of my very favorite stamp sets and that's always a good thing!

The set I love? Tiny Heroes from Mama Elephant! I have a 3 nephews and they love getting cards with these little super heroes on them.

I started with a blank white card base and used the Peek A Boo die from Pretty Pink Posh to cut a window in it. I stamped my sentiment under the window and used a copic marker to color in the Super Duper to match what would become my little hero. I stamped my hero on a separate piece of cardstock and then colored him in and used the matching dies to cut him out. I positioned him inside the window so that he's actually inside the card itself and then used foam tape to adhere him. It's so fun that you can open the card and he's still there!

Ants in Your Picnic

I was very fortunate to win a giveaway from Sunny Studio Stamps last month and I finally got some time to play with my new goodies! Here's what I came up with.

I decided to create a background by using a bunch of the small food images and those cute little ants. After stamping, I used a scallop edge die to make it look like a tablecloth. I colored all my images with Copics and then set it aside for a bit while I worked on the card base. This is where the MISTI is so useful! I stamped my Gingham Backdrop onto a red card base, but it had some splotchiness, so I was able to restamp right on top of the original and fix the icky stamping. So useful! I adhered my "tablecloth" on top of the gingham base and that's all there was to it!
