Today's card was inspired by the "Less Is More" Challenge to use a stencil.
I started my card by using my MISTI to stamp my flamingo where I wanted it. I then stamped another on some masking paper and fussy cut it to create a mask. I masked off the flamingo and then laid my stencil over the top of my panel. I taped off the portions I didn't want to ink by using blue Painter's Tape. It's low tack, so it's easy to pull off my paper without damaging it. I carefully inked some Sea Glass ink through the stencil using a blending tool. I removed the stencil to reveal those beautiful blue waves! I removed the mask from my flamingo and then carefully colored it in with my Copics. I then used my MISTI once again to stamp my sentiment. It makes stamping multi-piece sentiments like this a breeze! I adhered the panel to a white card base using my tape runner and it was all done!
This will also be my second entry into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge which is also to use a stencil!
I absolutely love this. It's so clean and uncluttered, really attractive and a fab stencil used for the background. I've got a MISTI on order (yay!) so I'm excited to hear you find yours so useful. Great LIM card, thanks!
