I chose diagonal from left to right - Masking Technique, Sponging, and Things That Fly. I used a pixie from Avery Elle, so that counts as something that flies, right? LOL!
I actually remembered to take pictures as I created this time, so I have a fun little step by step photo guide for you. (Please ignore my mess that I make on my scrap paper under my panel!) If only I actually remembered to do this more often!
I started by using my Misti to stamp each of my images where I wanted them (carefully masking where the clouds overlapped) and then stamping and heat embossing my sentiment. This picture shows the whole thing stamped and everything masked for the next step - Sponging!
Look at how awesome that is when the masks are removed! You can see that blue halo so much better now! On to the coloring!
I used my copics to give my images some color and dimension. I colored the pixie to look a little like Tinkerbell because I'm going to be sending this to a friend who happens to be a Disney freak. She's going to love this! I used light grays in my clouds to make them appear a little more fluffy. I love how that blue halo makes them appear even more white! Now to finish it up!
I stamped a light blue card base with light blue ink to create a tone-on-tone effect and then adhered my oval panel with foam tape for dimension. I used some clear Wink of Stella on the pixie's wings and her wand for some extra magic! To finish it off, I added a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins trailing down from her wand.
Fantastic masking! Lovely card!
ReplyDeleteomg this card is sooo cute Rachel!! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore this! I'm so glad you showed how you masked to add color behind. I've got to remember that! :) So glad you are linking up on the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge blog now!
